(Corca Dhuibhne) culminates in the Irish mainland's westernmost point. In the shadow of Mt Brandon, a maze of fuchsia-fringed boreens weaves together an ancient landscape of prehistoric ring forts and beehive huts, early Christian chapels, holy wells, picturesque hamlets and villages.
She evokes the bounty of the Ocean life, her belly being thecoil of a spiralling shell from the western shores of Ireland, remembering thevery ancient goddess Danu, mother of all Celts. Hear the stories from theancient world she has to tell…
It is on the dingle Peninsula, West Kerry, on its meandering sea shores framed with purple cliffs and emerald vegetation, where I go to secret coves where I respectfully gather a gift ortwo left by the Ocean. Every material I use in my crafts has been gathered with gratitude and respect, and is a unique piece of this beautiful western edge of Ireland. There is magic in all of them.
